William Saliba was born William Allain Andre Gabriel Saliba on March 24 2001, in Bondy, France. He is of mixed ethnicity, his father is Lebanese and his mother is from Cameroon.
Career
Saliba began his football career at the youth level with As Bondy. Still, at the youth level, he played for FC Montfermeil and Saint-Etienne.
He began to play professional football for Saint-Etienne in 2018 and later signed a five-year deal with Arsenal on July 25, 2019, with a reported transfer fee of £27 million.
However, he went on loan to his former club Saint-Etienne from 2019-2020, to Nice (2020-2021), and Marseille (2021-2022) before he returned to Arsenal in 2022. He played his first match for Arsenal in a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on August 5, 2022.
Saliba has represented France at the Under19, U-20, and U23 levels before being called up to the senior team on March 21, 2022. He made his debut in friendlies against the Ivory Coast and South Africa.
