Solly Marchbwas born Solomon Benjamin March on July 20, 1994 in Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom. His father, Steve March who is one of the biggest supporters of his son’s football career, was also an apprentice for the football club Brighton and Hove Albion in the late 1980s. His mother’s name is still unknown while he also has a sister named Eliza March.
March had his secondary school education at Ringmer Community College and St Bede’s School, Hailsham. He also participated in Cricket for Hellingly C.C between 2008 and 2012.
Career
March began his career at the youth level with Crystal Palace youth academy. He moved through the youth ranks of Eastbourne Borough in 2009, Lewes in 2010 and Brighton & Hove Albion in 2011.
He came through professionally in 2011 with Lewes where he made his first team debut on September 10, after coming on as a substitute at the 86th minute in a 4-1 win against Avaley.
He joined the English club Brighton and Hove Albion on a three-year deal in December 2011. The first time he found the back of the net was in FA Cup fourth round tie at Port Vale on January 25, 2014.
At the international scene, March represented England at the under-20 and under-21 levels. He was included in the England under-21 squad in May 2014 and would play a 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification match against Wales. He scored his first goal for England under-21 in a 4-0 win against Denmark in a friendly match on March 27, 2017.
