Early Life
Onajite Paul Okoloko was born in Nigeria. He obtained a bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Benin. He is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School.

Onajite is an entrepreneur who is driven by the desire for indigenous ownership and operating of business.
He worked in the United States before he came back to Nigeria to work in the Oil industry. While in the United States, he worked in sales, marketing and business development.
He began as an oil trading company in 1994, and acquired Unipetrol Nigeria Plc during the Federal Government of Nigeria’s privatisation exercise in 2000.
He became a founding member of the Ocean and Oil Group alongside Omamofe Boyo, Adewale Tinubu, and Osaze Osifo. He left the Ocean and Oil Group of Companies in 2005.
He became the managing director of Notore Chemical Industries Plc. He was the only producer of urea fertiliser in Sub-Saharan Africa till 2015.
Okoloko was instrumental in campaigning for reform in the Nigerian agricultural sector which made the government moved away from a subsidy based system of fertiliser distribution to a comprehensive and sustainable methodology that encouraged self-sufficiency.
He became the Chairman of Midwestern Oil & Gas Company Limited which commenced operation in 2003. The company achieved a commendable milestone in 2016 when it celebrated nine Million Man-Hours LTI-Free operations.
As the Chairman of Eroton Exploration & Production Limited, he led a consortium of investors to acquire Shell’s 45% working interest in OML 18 for $1,200 billion in 2014.
As one of the most successful entrepreneur in Nigeria, Okoloko was appointed as an inaugural member of the Guman Capital and Innovation Capacity Building Working Group of the National Competitiveness Council of Nigeria in 2014.
He was also appointed a member of the Presidential Committee on Oil and Gas as the sole representative of the private sector in 2014.
