Early Life
Okawa Shaznay was born on May 5, 1986 in Bamenda, Northwest region, Cameroon.
She had her secondary education at Presbyterian Secondary School Mankon, Bamenda, Cameroon. She moved to the United States where she obtained a bachelors degree in accounting from Texas Southern University.
Career
Okawa Shaznay is one who always had passion right from the onset. She took interest in performing arts while being part of stage plays and little film projects in her home town in Cameroon.
As time goes by she became accustomed to the Nollywood movies after watching the classic 90’s Nigerian soap operas such as Scores to Settle, Living in bondage and Glamour Girls.
She came through professionally with her first role in the movie “Master DJ” which was produced in Cameroon by Sarabi Pictures in 2004.
She later moved to Houston in the U.S where she joined the All Africa Theater group. She returned to Africa and was featured in her first big-screen role, Cheaters, as directed by Frank Rajah Arase.
Okawa rose to fame for her role in the Nollywood movie, Iyore, featuring the Nollywood sensations, Rita Dominic and Joseph Benjamin.
She also goy more exposure for her lead role in the TV series, Delilah: The Mysterious Case of Delilah Ambrose.
She featured in the 2016 released movie project “REFUGEES” as filmed in Ghana in 2012 before it was completed in Atlanta USA towards the end of 2013.
She has acted alongside the likes of Jackie Appiah, Kalsoume Sinare, Eddie Watson, Mike Ezuruonye , Lilian Esoro, Yvonne Nelson, Adjetey Anang, Belinda Effah, Desmind Elliot and so on.
