Early Life & Background

Kelechi Amadi-Obi was born on December 29, 1969 in Owerri, Imo State.

He is the sixth of the seven children in the family.

He went to Library Primary school, Umuahia, Abia State and Government College, Umuahia for his primary and secondary education.

He obtained a law degree in 1992 at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and was called to the Nigerian bar in 1994.

Career

Amadiobi started having passion for photography at a very tender age.

His works have been featured both in and outside Nigeria and had worked with clients such as InsightGrey, Primagarnet, Guniess Nigeria Plc, British American Tobacco, The Ford Foundation and so on.

Amadi-Obi co-founded Depth of Field (DOF) in 2001, a collective Nigerian photographer, artist and painters which include the likes of TY Bello, Uche James Iroha, Amaize Ojeikere, Zainab Balogun, Emeka Okereke and so on. The main aim for the group is to assist one another to attain excellence in photography.

The creative photographer is also the publisher of Stylia Mania Magazine, a glossy magazine which typically featured on its covers Nigerian artist which include the likes of Tiwa Savage, Agbani Darego, Stephanie Okereke and many others.
