Diane Guerrero (born July 21, 1986) is a versatile actress and author who rose to fame for her role as Maritza Ramos on the Netflix series Orange is the New Black.
She is the author of the book, In the Country We Love: My Family Divided and also an advocate for the immigrant community.

Early Life
Diane Guerrero was born on July, 1986 in New Jersey to parents from Colombia. She grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. She is the only person in her family with American citizenship as she chose to stay in the United states when her parents and older brother was deported back to Colombia.
She went to Boston Arts Academy, a performing arts high school and studied acting at the Susan Batson Studios in Mew York City.
Career
Guerrero became known for her role of Maritza Ramos in the Netflix series Orange is the New Black, in 2012
She got a recurring role in the CW series Jane The Virgin in 2014 and was also cast in a regular role for season 2 of Superior Donuts.
She released her book, In the Country We Love: My Family Divided in 2016. The book which was written with Michelle Burford, is a memoir about her parents being deported when she was 14 years of age.
She played the role of Jane in the DC Universe series Doom Patrol in July 2018.
