Ackquille Jean Pollard (born 4th August 1994) popularly known as Bobby Shmurda is an American rapper and songwriter. Shmurda came to limelight with his song “Hot Nigga” in 2014 which was followed up with the release of his debut EP, Shmurda She Wrote, in November 2014. His talent paved way for him and got him signed with Epic Records. He is a versatile rapper with music genres of hip hop and drill music.

Bobby Smurda was born on August 4, 1994 in Miami, Florida, U.S and originally from Brooklyn, New York, U.S.
He is of mixed ethnicity; His father is a Jamaican while his mother is of African-American.
Career
Shmurda first came through with the remix of Crime Mob’s “Knuck if You Buck” and came to prominence in 2014 with his hit single “Hot Nigga” which samples instrumental from lloyd Banks song “Jackpot”. The accompanying music video went viral online with the Shmurda’ signature “Shmoney dance” became an internet meme. It was also replicated by Jay Z and Beyonce during their on The Run tour. Also, the song instrumental gave rise to freestyles from the likes of French Montana, T.I, Lil kim, Juicy J and so on.
The song also has an official remix with features from the likes of Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Chris Brown, Fabolous, Rowdy Rebel and Yo Gotti. It also boast of a reggae remix with vocals from Popcaan, Junior Reid, Mavado and Jah X.
The success of the single got him signed to Epic records and had released his debut EP, Shmurda She Wrote, on November 10, 2014.
