Early Life & Career
Akua was born on October 11, 1987 and raised in Ghana.
She began her career in 2011 as a model where she won Ghana’s Most beautiful Girl (GMB) and hence the nickname GMB.
The same year, she became the host of the talk show, The Purple Room.
Akua is an entrepreneur with numerous business ventures. She is the CEO of Jay & Jay Co. Ltd, an Accra based fashion company which imports and exports fashion related products. She is also the founder of Street Aid Ghana and the general manager of Angel TV.

Personal Life
Akua GMB got married to Dr Kwaku Oteng, a business mogul who owns several chain of businesses from Ghana’s herbal medicines to broadcasting, beverages and transport. Their union is blessed with 3 children. She has a daughter named Agudie who is the last child and only girl of her 3 children with her husband.
Moreover, it is said that Akua is just one of the wives her husband has. Dr Oteng has 4 other wives.
Rumors has also been circulating that both Akua and Dr Oteng have divorced. Meanwhile Akua had showed off her new wedding ring indicating there is no such thing like divorce.
However, Ghancelebrities.com revealed that she was caught by her husband for infidelity. A video shared on media personality, Afia Schwarzenegger Instagram page claimed that Dr Oteng found out that his wife has been allegedly cheating on him and hence stormed the office of Akua GMB with a bottle of Schnapp and asked his wife to place a curse if she has never cheated on him since they got married but Akua refused while insisting that she is a Christian.
