Taty Castellanos was born Valentin Mariano José Castellanos Giménez on October 3, 1998, in Mendoza, Argentina.
Career
Taty Castellanos began his football career at the youth level with Universidad de Chile youth academy. He made his senior team debut at the club in the 2017 Copa Sudamericana in a match against Corinthians.
He joined Torque in July 2017 on a one-year loan and later made his move permanent in July 2018.
He moved to the Major League Soccer side New York City FC on loan in 2018 and the club later exercised their option to buy Castellanos on November 29, 2018, ahead of the 2019 season.
Taty became an important player for the NYCFC in 2019, where he netted 11 times with 7 assists in 30 appearances.
He moved the Spanish club Girona on a season-long loan on July 25, 2022. He became force in the Girona’s attack, where netted four times in a 4-2 win against Real Madrid.
