Career
Gianluca began his football career at the Roma youth academy before he joined PSV Eindhoven in January 2015. He made his debut at the of 17 in a 2-1 away win against VVV-Venlo.
He was signed by Sassuolo on a four-and-a-half-year deal on January 17. He made his Serie A debut at the age of 18, in a 3-1 defeat against Napoli.
He went on loan to Cremonese in January 2018 and joined PEC Zwolle on loan on August 31, 2018.
He joined the Seria B club Ascoli on loan, on July 13, 2019, and later joined Genoa on a season-long loan on October 2, 2020.
He returned to Sassuolo in 2021 and later signed for the English club West Ham on a five-year deal, on July 26, 2022.
Scamacca has represented Italy at the U17, U19, U20, and U21 levels before being called up to the senior team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in September 2021.
