Early Life
Jacksepticeye was born on February 7, 1990, in County Offaly, Ireland, to parents John and Florrie McLoughlin. He is the youngest child in a family of five children. He grew up in Cloghan with his four siblings. His dad worked for the ESB.
His family moved to a cabin in Ballycumber when he was 18 years of age. He attended Limerick Institute of Technology, where he studied music technology and production. He later dropped out in the third year.
He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in hotel management at Athlone Institute of Technology.
Career
Jacksepticeye began uploading videos on his YouTube channel in 2012. He initially started with voice impressions before delving into gameplay content.
He signed under the Disney Digital Network. Polaris, a division of The Walt Disney Company, announced that he would be featured in the series Polaris: Player Select on the television channel Disney XD, in June 2017. It was also announced that he would produce exclusive content for the live-streaming platform Twitch as part of a multi-year deal with Disney’s Digital Network, in January 2018.
McLoughlin signed with the talent agency WME and later signed with Studio71, in 2019.
He starred in the movie Free Guy alongside Ryan Reynolds, in 2021. He released a short film titled “15 Months” to his YouTube channel, in July 2021. He later signed with the talent agency CAA.
