Early Life
August Alsina was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on 3rd of September, 1992.
He had his education in New Orleans. He moved in with his mother in Houston, Texas in search of a new start after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He had disagreement with his mother and was kicked out.
He relocated to Atlanta in 2011 to focus more on music after his brother Melvin La’Branch III was killed on August 31, 2010.
Career
August Alsina developed passion for music with inspiration with influences from the likes of Lyfe Jennings, Usher and Chris Brown. He began to upload videos on YouTube at the age of 14, starting with a cover of “Hypothetically” by Lyfe Jennings.
He released his first mixtape The Product in April 2012. He followed it up with the release of the single “I Luv This Shit” featuring Trinidad James in January 2013 and a mixtape titled “The Product 2” in May 2013.
He released another EP, Downtown: Life Under The Sun on August 20, 2013. He released his debut studio album Testimony on April 15, 2014.
His second studio album This Thing Called Life, was released on December 11, 2015 and was supported by five singles; Been Around the World featuring Chris Brown, Why Do I Do It featuring Lil Wayne, Dreamer, Hip Hop and Song Cry.
He released his third studio album, The Product III: State of Emergency on June 26, 2020 and on September 21, 2021, he announced that he was likely going to quit music.

Personal Life
Alsina revealed in 2017 that he suffers from a severe autoimmune disease that attacks his liver. The illness led to several incidents including a collapse on stage in 2014.
Alsina had a relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith after she got seperated for a while from Will Smith.
