Samira Denise Wiley (born April 15, 1987) popularly known as Samira Wiley is an American actress who came to prominence for her role as Poussey Washington in the Netflix comedy drama series Orange is the New Black. She is also known for her role as Moira in the drama series, The Handmaid’s Tale.
She made appearance in the advertisement for the digital monetary service, Paypal. She also featured on the cover of 2014 edition of Out magazine alongside Sam Smith.

Early Life
Samira Wiley was born on April 15, 1987 in Washington, D.C, United States. Her parents, Christine and W. Wiley, were the co-pastors of Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ until 2017. She also has two siblings; Aiyana Ma’at and Joshua Wiley.
She went to Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C and the Julliard School in New York City. She also obtained a degree in Temple University.
Career
Wiley began acting professionally in 2011 with her first role in the comedy film, The Sitter and followed up with another role as Maria in a theater production of Love’s Labour’s.
She rose to fame for her role as Poussey Washington in the Netflix comedy drama series Orange is the New Black.
Wiley later filmed an independent crime film Rob The Mob, in between seasons of Orange is the New Black, in 2014 and featured in the 21st episode of the 16th season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Wiley also boast of other exciting roles in films such as; Nerve, The Sitter, Detroit and Social Animals.
She was announced to voice the character in the video game, The Walking Dead: Michonne, in December 2015.
She appeared in the advertisement for the digital monetary service, Paypal. She featured on the cover of 2014 edition of Out magazine alongside the likes of Elliot Page, Zachary Quinto and Sam Smith.
