Early Life
Rhulani was born on January 8 in Johannesburg and comes from a football family. He is the son of former Orlando Pirates player Julias Sono and nephew to Jomo Sono.
Career
He started his coaching career professionally in the youth systems at Silver Stars before he became an assistant manager at Mamelodi Sundowns and Pirates. He later became the interim manager of Pirates in 2019 before being appointed as the head coach at Chippa United the following year.
He also runs a foundation “Rhulani Mokwena Foundation” and always partake in social and personal development activities.
